Wingaersheek Beach
Located in West Gloucester MA, Wingaersheek Beach is one of the best beaches in Massachusetts. Its large size, calm waters, and protected dunes have made Wingaersheek Beach incredibly popular across every age group. The beach offers up food, drinks, beach toys and other beach amenities at the on-site concession stand, as well as showers and bathrooms. Wingaersheek Beach is protected from the open ocean, and offers tranquil waters, lazy breezes and small tidal pools perfect for children to explore. At low tide, the beach extends out for hundreds of yards, making it perfect for a walk with your loved ones. At high tide, the water comes closer to shore, filling up small tidal pools scattered along the beach that are perfect for small children. Wingaersheek Beach is the perfect spot for your family beach vacation. The beach is handicap accessible, and features on-duty lifeguards and a large parking lot.
Alcohol is prohibited on the beach and Gloucester has adopted a Carry In – Carry Out policy at Wingaersheek and Good Harbor beaches so please be prepared to carry out any trash with you when you leave. Food, drinks, beach toys, and other beach necessities are available at the concession. Restrooms and showers are available as well from 9:00am to 6:00pm daily. During periods of inclement weather all facilities may close early.
Parking is available during the week at a rate of $20 per vehicle, and on the weekends and holidays at $25 per vehicle. After Labor Day, beaches may be open with reduced rates charges, weather permitting. Space is limited so you’ll need to arrive early on a nice day in order to get a parking space. The gates open at 8:00am and are locked at 9:00pm. The beach is handicapped accessible with approximately 16 handicapped spaces in the lot. A beach wheelchair is available – ask at the collection booth upon arrival or ask the lifeguards.
